These terms are an agreement between you and Josiah Kila (sole proprietor), Hawaii, USA ("LatenSea", "we"). By using the LatenSea app you agree to them. On Apple devices, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ, Apple's EULA controls for App Store purchases.
LatenSea is a language-learning app: translation, reading, guided audio lessons, AI conversation practice, flashcards and quizzes. Most features are produced by AI models and metered by credits. It is a study aid, not a certified translation or teaching service.
Translations, explanations, corrections, stories, voices and images are generated automatically and can be wrong, incomplete or inappropriate. Check anything that matters (medical, legal, financial, travel documents) with a qualified human. You may report problematic output from inside the app or via support; we review reports and may remove content. You are responsible for what you submit — do not upload content you have no right to use, and do not use the app to generate harassing, sexual, hateful or illegal material.
You may use LatenSea without an account (an anonymous account is created for your device) or sign in with email, Google or Apple. You must be at least 13. You own the text and photos you submit. Generated results are yours to use for personal study; we hold a licence to store and process them only to run the app. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or the credit system.
Free accounts receive a credit allowance that refills monthly. Paid plans ("Pro Monthly", "Premium Monthly") are auto-renewing subscriptions bought through Apple's App Store or Google Play; the price is shown in the app before purchase and is charged to your store account. A subscription renews each month unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Credits have no cash value, do not carry over beyond the period stated in the app, and expire when an account is deleted. We may change prices or allowances for future periods with notice in the app or the store listing.
Because purchases are processed by Apple or Google, refunds are issued by them under their policies, not by us directly: Apple — reportaproblem.apple.com; Google — Google Play refund help. If a paid feature did not work for you, email josiahkila@gmail.com with the details — we will restore credits consumed by a failed request and help with the store's refund process. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in the store first.
LatenSea depends on third-party AI and cloud providers and may be interrupted or changed. We may add, alter or retire features. If we discontinue a paid feature you subscribed to, you may cancel and request a pro-rated refund from the store for the unused period.
LatenSea is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made in reliance on AI output. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country that cannot be excluded by contract.
